Content lenses can solve your vision or eye problems. But, if you do not take the required cautions during wearing or removing your lenses, it might be a problem for you and your eyes. You need to take proper care and maintain them to prevent your eyes from any infection, irritation, pain, itching, swelling or blurred vision. The guidelines for proper maintenance of contact lenses are generally given by the manufacturers or suppliers. All you need to do is read them carefully and follow them strictly. Your eye doctor can also guide you in this matter.

You must be cautious while cleaning your lenses. Some disposable lenses do not need any cleaning schedule as they are thrown after every use or daily. Other lenses need proper care while cleaning. The suppliers recommend different methods for cleaning the lenses. They provide solutions for rinsing and cleaning them after every use. The type of solutions depends on the type of contact lens you are using. Solutions made for a particular brand of contact lenses must not be used for another. These solutions keep your lenses free from dust and other infection. There are different rinsing and cleansing solutions available in the market. Switching them can lead to a serious trouble for the lenses as well as your eyes.

Besides, rinsing and cleaning solutions, you will get different moisturizing or disinfecting solutions with the pack. You must not confuse these solutions as each have a different purpose of its own.

It is also important that before handling your lenses you must disinfect your hand. Infection can spread from your hands, if they are not washed or cleaned properly. You must not use any moisturizing soap to wash your hands as they might cause protein layers on your lenses resulting in serious damage.

Contact lens eye drops must also be used by the wearers. This prevents dryness of lenses and keeps your eyes moist. If your eyes are sensitive to some chemical you can use the preservative-free contact or soft lenses which would keep your eyes safe.

There are other cautions for contact lens wearers as well. It is very important that you know how to wear the contact lens properly. Special Lens Cautions must be taken while wearing the disposable soft lenses as it may turn itself inside out if the surface tension between your finger and the lens is more. You need to be cautious while removing your lenses as well.
